Embrace the Ordinary – A Cure for Righteous Indignation

I tried to do a lot of embracing of ordinary things this week. I love finding the specialness in small moments, and I’m still hosting this link up for Gina all during Lent.

“…there is something holy, something divine hidden in the most ordinary situations, and it is up to each one of you to discover it.” St. Josemaria Escriva, Passionately Loving the World

I ended up being filled with righteous indignation yesterday after a phone call with the not-helpful people at Sirius XM. Without my authorization, they reactivated the radio on the car I used to own, but because I was still using their service on my current car until this past summer, I didn’t notice it on my credit card statement. My husband caught it on our January statement, and it turns out they’ve been charging me for radio service on a car I don’t even own for three years. I thought I had the refund all taken care of when I called a few weeks ago, but it never happened, so I followed up yesterday. The supervisor I spoke to was rude and condescending and flat out refused to give me a refund of the money they charged me without my consent, which basically means they just stole several hundred dollars from me. So I was aaaaall fired up yesterday afternoon.

I have no intention of backing down from the jerks who stole from me and am determined to get my money back. But in the meantime, it helps keep my frustration at bay to focus on the little happy moments of life in our little world. So, here you go:

  1. I love all the fun you had crafting with your girls but gee-whiz!?? I can’t believe that has been happening! I’m so sorry! I can’t even begin to imagine how frustrating that is. Hope that resolves in your favor and sooner than later!

    • I know! I am less fired up about it now, but still determined to make sure it does get resolved in my favor. First attempt was not satisfactory, but I’m still working on it!

  2. I would say you should definitely report Sirius to the Better Business Bureau. I hear they have an “F’ rating, and I know they do this kinds of mess to people ALL THE TIME. I think it’s ridiculous that you can’t buy a new car these days without having the XM trial. Thankfully, we were able to get away with not turning in our credit card information, so they should not be able to bill us after the trial is over….or at least I’m praying anyway.

    • Yes, I agree. I will not ever subscribe to Sirius again. I have found a class action suit against them that they settled, so apparently that HAVE done this many, many times, to people in 46 states and the District of Columbia! I might qualify for the class action suit. If not, I’ll contact my State’s AG’s office. Ugh. I hope you don’t have any problems with yours :/

  3. The snowflakes! Such a fun activity and I love your black and white pic of that.

NO GOOD on the theft. 🙁 Hope that resolves soon!

  4. I am so very sad to say that I got Sirius XM for my husband for Christmas so he could listen to the Catholic channel – groan! He spends two plus hours on the road each workday…..sigh

I love the conga line on the balance beam::) Where on earth do you find a balance beam?!? and am a little jealous of the view through that beautiful merlot?!?

How silly is it that I grinned all over when you called me friend – lol – the joy of being blogger buddies 🙂

    • Hopefully you won’t have any problems with SiriusXM. I know a lot of people who have it and like it, particularly for listening to the Catholic channel. I’d just say watch your bills from them carefully 🙂

I don’t remember where I got the balance beam. Online somewhere of course. It’s great because it folds up for storage. I was trying to help Miss with her routine for her upcoming meet, and her sisters jumped on to try too!

Thanks for the comment, friend 🙂

      • I’m going to have to google – a balance beam that folds up would rock my world let alone Ladybug’s….lol will it hold your weight as well as that of the girls?!? too cool! I’m thinking Easter….lol

        • Yes, it holds my weight too, though when I stepped too close to the end once I thought I heard a slight cracking sound :/ Too much ice cream??
